NATIVE AMERICAN CEREMONIES AND SUN DANCE WAY OF LIFE

WISDOM MESSAGES FROM                         THE NATIVE AMERICAN ELDERS

An introduction to the native spiritual path with few words, stories and teachings of some of our elders. We will share about different ceremonies and rituals we have been participating during the time walking these sacred ways with them, and how this has changed our perspective of our own behaviours, our life and destiny.

CHANUPA CEREMONY

In the Lakota tradition the "Canupa" (sounded "sha..nupa") was brought to the people by the 'white buffalo calf woman' to help them to raise and amplify their prayers to the creator. It is a very sacred instrument, and the people who have been given the responsibility to carry it must protect it with their life and pass it on to the next seven generations. The elders believe for as long as the people continue to pray with the Canupa the cycle of existence for humanity will continue in a good way. Through this ceremony we raise our prayers to the Great Spirit, we express our hearts and strengthen our connection with all of our relationships through this tool delivered by our ancestors.

THE SWEAT LODGE CEREMONY

The sweat lodge is a very ancient traditional purification and prayer ceremony. An experience intimately connected through the darkness and warmth of the stones, the prayers, intentions, chants and silence. Entering this belly is a powerful experience for the treatment of many diseases, stimulates internal organs and clean our being releasing toxins, stress, and accumulated energy for different reasons. We have been autorised to share 3 different types of this ceremony: the Inipi Lakota, the Temazcal Meshica and the Navajo sweat lodge.

CIRCLE OF TRADITIONAL SONGS OF THE NAC

We uplift through the medicine of the Sacred Chants of the NAC (Native American Church). It is performed as designed and delivered by our leaders; we will teach the use of the medicine rattle, the staff, the sage, the fan feathers and the water drum which are the sacred instruments of the tradition. We will practice traditional songs that will be sung during the tipi ceremony. We will evoke our essence with songs and prayers consolidating our relationship with the creative rhythm. We connect, heal and raise the spirit from the understanding of being children of Mother Earth and Father Sky.

THE TIPI CEREMONY
ALL NIGHT LONG HEALING PRAYER

This ceremony represents the center of the spirituality of Native North America. It is a spiritual healing ceremony, takes place through personal prayer, interacting with the four elements of life, feeling the heartbeat of Mother Earth through the vibrations of the water drum, enjoying the natural rhythm of rattle, songs of prayer of the medicine, achieving a spiritual connection with the creator level, with the ritual use of sage, cedar and tobacco and the guide of the Road Man. It is important to mention that the participants attend in order to support the main prayer of the ceremony, but also may go with any personal purpose for which to pray, some emotional, physical or spiritual problem, celebrating a special occasion, request for family or friends or just for giving thanks, focusing on his personal motive as well as supporting at all times the primary purpose of the ceremony.
